Caitlin + Tripp

The newly reopened East Building of the National Gallery is an incredibly popular place boasting rooms full of of masterpieces by Calder, Rothko and Serra.  It also has some of the most beautiful backdrops in the city making it one of my favorite places to photograph couples.  Caitlin and Tripp spent the afternoon with me looking absolutely gorgeous while bravely dodging tourists and photo-bombers alike.

Heidi + Mareon

When I read her email, asking me to photograph her summer wedding, I let out a yelp that startled my husband and the cats.  “Queen Heidi wants me to photograph her wedding!”  Without going too far overboard with the glory days of high school, Heidi was Daffodil Queen when I was a junior–and she a senior–in high school.  I feel as awestruck by her grace and beauty as I did back then.  She and Mareon have a gentle, embracing kindness about them.  It is the highest honor to be allowed to witness to their joy.  (And a summer wedding in the PNW is about as good as life gets for me!)

Tessa + Chris

I was over the moon when Tessa and Chris contacted me to photograph their wedding next year.  We had originally planned to do engagement photos a couple of weeks earlier than late (late!) November, but weather and other bits of life took over.  And frankly, I’m so glad because, well, look at what we got!  We met at Dumbarton Oaks in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. and pretended for a little while like it was our own château, discovering the meandering parterre.
